Good news on the legislative front! H.2776 / S.1877 – the bill to set up a special commission to invite Native leaders to sit with state legislators to design a new state flag and seal – was voted positively out of committee in early February. We know the bill has been reported to the Senate. As soon as we know which Senate committee will take up the bill (and we have been contacting all the relevant legislators on a regular basis to alert us to that information as soon as it becomes available) we will update everyone who is following this website.
Until then, we are asking supporters to take a moment and contact Massachusetts Senate President Karen Spilka and urge her to do all she can to move this long stalled racial justice legislation forward to final passage in 2020!
Call Senate President Karen Spilka at: 617-722-1640 or email her at: Karen.Spilka@masenate.gov
